2. Personal information we collect
Depending on how a person interacts with LW Slimming, we may collect and process:
- Name and surname.
- Email address and telephone or WhatsApp number.
- Billing and delivery addresses.
- Account and login information.
- Order, payment and transaction records.
- Products ordered and customer account type.
- Communications, enquiries, complaints and returns information.
- Professional, business or practice information voluntarily supplied when applying for professional or distributor access.
- Marketing preferences and newsletter subscription details.
- Website, browser, device, cookie and usage information.
- Fraud-prevention, security and transaction-verification information.
LW Slimming does not request health or medical information through its standard website ordering process. Customers should not submit medical records, diagnoses, prescriptions or other health information through general website forms, email or WhatsApp.
3. How information is collected
Personal information may be collected:
- Directly from a customer when an account is created, an order is placed, a form is completed or LW Slimming is contacted.
- Automatically through the website, cookies and similar technologies.
- From Paystack when a card payment is processed or verified.
- From BobGo and Courier Guy when shipping, delivery or tracking information is created or updated.
- From service providers assisting with website hosting, security, communications, customer service or fraud prevention.
4. Why we process personal information
LW Slimming may process personal information to:

- Process and verify orders and card payments.
- Arrange shipping and delivery.

5. Lawful processing
LW Slimming processes personal information only where there is a lawful purpose and basis, including where processing is necessary to:

LW Slimming takes reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is adequate, relevant, not excessive, accurate and kept up to date for the purpose for which it is processed.
6. Payments and Paystack
All website payments are processed through Paystack using supported card payments. Payment and transaction information required to authorise, verify, settle, refund or investigate a payment may be processed by Paystack, card networks, banks and fraud-prevention providers.
LW Slimming does not directly collect or retain complete card numbers, card security codes or other complete card credentials submitted through Paystack.
Paystack maintains its own terms and privacy practices for information processed through its services.
7. Shipping, BobGo and Courier Guy
LW Slimming uses BobGo as its shipping and order-management platform and Courier Guy as the delivery carrier.
Information required to create a shipment, waybill, tracking record and delivery may be shared with BobGo and Courier Guy, including the customer’s name, delivery address, telephone number, email address, order reference and parcel information.
BobGo and Courier Guy may process this information only to the extent necessary to manage, track and deliver the order, respond to delivery queries, prevent fraud or comply with applicable law.
8. Other service providers and sharing
Personal information may be shared with trusted service providers where reasonably necessary and lawful, including:
- Website hosting, maintenance and security providers.
- Email, communications and customer-service providers.
- Payment processors, banks and fraud-prevention services.
- Shipping platforms and couriers.
- Accountants, auditors, insurers, legal advisers and other professional advisers.
- Regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or public authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their functions and are expected to apply appropriate confidentiality, security and data-protection measures.
LW Slimming does not sell or rent personal information.
9. Cross-border processing
Some service providers, systems or technical infrastructure may process or store information outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, LW Slimming will apply the requirements of POPIA and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
This does not mean that LW Slimming offers international product delivery. Product delivery is limited to South Africa.
10. Retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer service, returns, disputes, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, security, contractual requirements and other legal obligations.
When information is no longer reasonably required, it will be securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified where appropriate, subject to any lawful retention requirement.
11. Security
LW Slimming applies reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved. These may include access controls, password and account security, secure service providers, website security, backups, restricted staff access and incident-response procedures.
No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. Customers are responsible for protecting their own account credentials and for notifying LW Slimming promptly if unauthorised account activity is suspected.
12. Security compromises
Suspected personal-information security compromises will be investigated. LW Slimming will notify the Information Regulator and affected data subjects where and in the manner required by POPIA.
13. Customer rights
Subject to applicable law, a person may:
- Ask whether LW Slimming holds personal information about them.
- Request access to their personal information.
- Request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion or destruction where appropriate and lawful.
- Object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
- Opt out of direct marketing.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
Requests may be sent to [email protected]. LW Slimming may request reasonable proof of identity before providing access to or changing personal information.
14. Direct marketing
Electronic direct marketing is conducted in accordance with POPIA, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and other applicable requirements.
Marketing messages will include a practical method to unsubscribe or opt out where required. Opting out of marketing does not prevent LW Slimming from sending necessary order, payment, account, security, delivery or policy communications.
16. Third-party links
The website may contain links to third-party websites or services. LW Slimming is not responsible for the privacy practices of an independent third party. Customers should review the relevant third party’s privacy information before submitting personal information to it.
17. Children
The LW Slimming website and products are intended for persons aged 18 years and older. LW Slimming does not intentionally collect children’s personal information through its standard website ordering process.
18. Changes to this policy
LW Slimming may update this policy prospectively to reflect changes in its services, website, providers, business practices or legal obligations. The latest version and effective date will be published on the website.
